Grenfell Family History Site

This online database, with a total of 2529 names contains details of eight Grenfell family lines, namely:

         Descendants of Hercules Grenfield and Jane Busvargus married 1631 at St Just in Penwith, Cornwall

         Descendants of Edward (Edmund) Grenfield and Cheston, married 1670 at St Just in Penwith, Cornwall

         Descendants of John Grenfield and Sarah Gill, married 1712 at St Just in Penwith, Cornwall

         Descendants of John Grenfell and Margaret Bray, married 1763 at Gwennap, Cornwall

         Descendants of Edward Grenfell and Charity Wallis, married 1791 at St Just in Penwith, Cornwall.

         Descendants of John Grenfell and Margaret Rowe married 1800 at Madron, Cornwall

         Descendants of William Grenfell and Eliza Thomas nee Sampson, married 1862 at Redruth, Cornwall

         Ancestors of David Rees Grenfell born 1881, died 1968 in Wales

The data has been gleaned from many different sources - Parish Registers, the IGI, the Phillimore Marriage Index, books, wills and other documents and indices.  Also information from other researchers to whom I am indebted for allowing me to include their data and to use their names as source references.  The vast majority of events contain a source reference but there are a few which do not - if any researcher can help me fill the gaps I would appreciate it.

There are ERRORS, probably many of them. Certainly there may be confusion between dates of births and christenings, and deaths and burials  If you find errors please let me know. As with all data of this nature it should only be used as a guide for further research into primary sources and no guarantee can be given or implied as to the accuracy of any information on the site or the data included.  

Every effort has been made not to include people who may still be alive.  I hope I have erred on the safe side by not including anyone born after 1900 unless I have details of their death or burial.  If any have slipped through the net I apologise and again, please let me know.

The online database has been generated by GedHtree, a programme written by Gary Welker. My own records, which are stored in GENERATIONS v. 8.5a, were transferred to GedHtree using GEDCOM 5.5.
