Richard Grenfell, St Just in Penwith, Cornwall, 17th August 1723 - Will

In The name of god amen I Richard Grenfell of the Parish of St.Just in the County of Cornwall Tyner being sick and weake of body but of perfect memory and remembrance blessed be to God for itt do make and appoint this my Last will and testament Revocking all others in maner and forme following.

Impris. I give and bequeath my soule unto the hands of Allmighty god my Gracious Redeemer hoping for a full peardon and remison of my sins thhrough his merits and mercy and my body unto the dust out of which it was taken.

Imp. I give and Bequeath unto my wife the house that is now in building in tregiseall, with half of my household goods and half my quick stock and the two and thirteth part of ye Criants in ballesweden during her Life, and after her decease all that she is posesed of she is to give to John Grenfell the son of John Grenfell not to disminish aney thing from him, I give unto my Mother six shillings a year during her Life.

Imp.I give and Bequeath unto Ruthey Grenfell the Dafter (?) of Bevell Grenfell the sum of one pound one shilling to be paid att an year end after my decease.

Imp. All the rset of my goods and Chattels mouvable and unmouvable Debts and Credits whatsomever, I give and Bequeath unto John Grenfell the son of John Grenfell with all my venters and the house in the Church Town during the Estate; him the said John Grenfell I make whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.

A true and perfect inventory of all the goods and chattells of Thomas Grenfield late of the parish of St.Just in Penwith who dyed the 14th. day of August 1708 and was buried the 16th. of said August taken and appraised by us whose names are hereunto subscribed this 9th. day of October 1708.

A true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods and chattells, rights and credits whatsoever which were of Thomas Grenfell. late of the parrish of St.Just in Penwith in the County of Cornwall, Tinner at the time of his death, taken and appraised of us Thomas Jelbert and Hugh Edwards both of the said parrish and county, Tinners, whose names are subscribed this thirty first day of January, Anno Dom 1726 as follows.

Thomas Grenfell, Sancreed, Cornwall, 3rd January 1847 - Will

In the name of God Amen

I Thomas Grenfell Farmer, of the Parish of Sancreed in the county of Cornwall being in perfect mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the following manner and form. first I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Grenfell the sum of One Pound. Also I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Tresise the sum of One Pound also I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Kirgeek rhe sum of Ten Shillings Also I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Grenfell my Interest in Trevorian to hold the same during the Term, and to have four cows and two hiffers and he is also to have five horses a waggon and two carts and he is to have a bed a clock six chairs and a table Also I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife my Interest in Lesbew with two horses and three cows and two hiffers. The resideu and Remainder of my Property the House in Bile croft in St.Just and sixty pounds I give unto my wife during her natural life and after her decease the

60£ to fall equally between my son Richard and my son Edward and my daughter Margery I also make my wife my Executor to pay all my Just Debts and funeral expenses and all legesas

to be paid twelve months after my Decease as Witness our hands this 3rd. day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.

William Grenfell, St Just in Penwith, Cornwall, 11th November 1751 - Will

  In the name of God Amen the eleventh day of November 1751 I William Grenfell of the Parish of St.Just in Penwith in the County of Cornwall Being Very weak in body but of Perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament. That is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor trusting that at the General Resurrection I shall receive the Same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching such wordly Estate and Goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following.

And first of all I give and bequeath to James Nicholas my Jockey Coat and three plush breeches.

Also, I give and bequeath to my two Brothers my three other coats and five wastecoats and two breeches for the two Divide them Between themselves.

Also, I give and bequeath to my Beloved Wife Grace, twenty shillings a year, if Noonreeth shall turn out to my part so much Yearly above Cost and Wages. Which said sum my said Wife shall receive During the time she remains a Widow and no longer. And also I give her to live in the house we now Lives in till this Year now in hand is out and also the fewell that now is, with all other conveniences During the said time, and after the time is out, she shall turn out of the said house and Leave all the Household Goods in their place without Defrauding anything or carrying away of any part, therof,or Causing or Letting any other person whatsoever to take or carry away anything out of the said house.

Also,I give to my Beloved Daughter Grace Grenfell whom I likewise constitue and make and ordain my Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament all and Singular My Goods and Adventures and writing and accounts, and money, and Effects whatsoever, by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed, if she shall live so long as to arrive to age of twenty one years and I do make and ordain my Brother John Grenfell, and my Brother in Law Francis Thomas of Morvah two Guardians over my said Daughter till she shall arrive to the age abovementioned and I do authorise and impower the said Guardians to order my effects as shall be most to the benefit of my said Daughter and they the said Guardians providing and laying out from the said effects for her maintinance as shall be needfull and necessary during the time till she come of age as is abovesaid. But if it shall happen that my said Daughter Grace shall die before she arrive and come to the age of twenty one years as is above mentioned that then and in such cause I give to each of my Sisters, Elizabeth, Jone and Jane, five shillings to be paid them on demands after six months after the death of my said Daughter and all the rest of my Effects after my Daughter is dead of what kind soever I give to my two Brothers to be equally divided between them, with paying my three Sisters five shillings apiece or Each and if it shall happen that either of my Brothers shall be dead at that time then I give all to him that shall be allive.

And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments, Wills, Legacies, Bequeasts and Executors by me in any qways before named, willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and yaer within written.
