The purpose of this site is to further interest in the Grenfell family name which has been registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies by Mrs Alison Stephen, "Newhaven", 16, Jill Court, Ringwood, Victoria 3134, Australia. The objective of the One-Name Study is to research all occurrences of the name GRENFELL and its variants GREENFIELD, GRENFIELD, GRINFIELD, GREENFILL etc. Eventually it is anticipated that a database will be compiled to include indexes to Civil Registrations of Births, Marriages and Deaths, Census Indexes, the IGI and published indexes of Wills. It is hoped that it will be possible to include some of these on the website, and Alison will be very pleased to hear from researchers - as her knowledge of the family is extensive.

It is hoped to expand each of the various sections - Online Database, Places of Interest, Biographies, Records, Documents, Researchers and Useful Links, in the future. Please let me know if there are additional subjects you would like or more details within the current sections.

There are ERRORS, probably many of them. If you find errors please let me know. As with all data of this nature it should only be used as a guide for further research into primary sources and no guarantee can be given or implied as to the accuracy of any information on the site or the data included.

The site is being continuously updated - feel free to browse, but please call back for the latest data. Your comments, corrections and additions will be very welcome and we hope that we can add your name to the list of Researchers.

I appreciate that at present the site is very much UK orientated, but hope that researchers throughout the world will provide us with information to broaden its base.
